I did a lot of research before choosing this model over some others. The camcorder is lightweight, and fits well in the hand. It has a number of different modes and resolutions, but I for my needs I use the full 1080p HD. I am using it for its night-vision capability, for use in investigations for my paranormal research group. The night-vision works very well, and the one IR light provided on the unit actually gives off a decent amount of infrared light, but you might want to buy a IR flood light in some cases. The only two things I am not thrilled about (but knew before buying the unit) are that 1) you can only record for 29 minutes, then you have to hit record again and start a second part of your video & 2) It takes around 200 minutes to charge the battery, so for paranormal investigations this means you can only use it for 60 minutes total in night-vision full HD mode. It mentions in the manual about charging it via USB with your computer, but just an FYI you can also use a USB power adapter like those on iphone cords, and plug it directly from usb into a wall socket without the need for a computer. I would recommend this unit to others.

I got this little camera sort of as a backup to my Flipcam. this does what the Flip cannot. There's a bit of image stabilization which was much better than I expected, a night vision cam, and a 5mp still camera which is wonderful. Being used to cameras with batteries this one feels a little flimsy in my hand because there is none of that extra weight. The internal memory is rather a waste you will need to get an sd card and a 8gb will give you an hour in HD. This will go up to 32 GB. Battery life could be better but all internal batteries seem to drain fast. I totally recommend this camera for the budding film maker!!

This camera does everything! I am a Private Investigator so I take this camera everywhere I go just in case I see something that I need to video or just take picture. I was very skeptical in ordering this video camera. It is wonderful. Very, very easy to use. Records nicely in light and dark. I do wish sound was a little better on the device itself, but sound is fine on TV or Computer. Compact and light enough to keep in your pocket.

Let me start with the negativeif you are looking for an HD camera or camcorder, this is not it! The quality is so and so, both in daylight and night.

The little camera was made for paranormal investigations and that is exactly what it's good for! The infrared feature makes it unique, especially for its price. I shot many orb videos with it in total darkness and can personally testify it does the job. The image looks grainy, however, you can shoot in TOTAL darkness and still see relatively clearly.

Also, definitely buy a memory card with it (also not expensive at all), because the internal memory is minimal (I believe enough for 8 photos).

I would not take it on vacation to capture beautiful sceneries nor to shoot a wedding... But as a super-affordable device for paranormal investigationsthis is your thing!
