This palyer is indeed compact. All the buttons cramp up in a small box. So it is small and easy on the space. I am not so sure about the video quality. I have another DVD player and it seems to me that his one has a slightly less image qyality. But is really does not matter that much.I bought thisone as a spare, so I only used for about one week, then I put it in the other room, with a less used TV.

This is a very cheaply made device. Of course, at the price I was willing to live with that as I just needed it for some DVD's from Europe that will not play on our bluray. However, the door would not close once open, with or without a DVD in it. You had to physically push down on the top, front edge of the door to get it to close. While the DVD player has both component and analog connection, only the analog connection worked. We needed it to work with the composite.
Item is being returned. This is a small compact unit that I got to go in my bedroom. I have found it perfect for this and exactly what I was looking for. The remote doesn't always go unless pointed directly at the unit but that is minor and hasn't been a big issue since I'm usually just starting a movie and setting the sleep timer on the TV. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and have recommended it to my mom for her craft room. The DVD player I had before this was so loud it was terribly annoying. This product is quiet, has no bright lights (it's for the bedroom) and is very compact. It fits on top of my dresser which is nice. Nice cheap DVD player.
