Adorama Shoe-To-Tripod Screw Adapter

I bought this adapter to connect my H4 Zoom recorder on my DSLR for smaller shoots. It's a pretty good adapter, but the end of the screw doesn't line up with how my Zoom and other attachments connect.

It does come with two adjustable parts to tighten the grip when the screw doesn't quite line up, but they don't stay in place as tightly as I would prefer. It does what it should, which is great, but sometimes when doing tracking shots, or other shots with movement, the grip can loosen a bit.

I suggest it for smaller quick shoots, but for filmmaking or projects that require movement, you might wanna look around for something more stable.

This is an excellent piece of hardware and is very well made. I love how long the threaded piece is, as it can snugly fit practically anything with a 1/4" female. I wish I got this a long time ago and I'll probably get another.

UPDATE: I bought another one. The one thing that originally made me hesitant to buy this item is that the top part of the 1/4" male thread that is showing in the product picture looks very short. I was worried that it would be too short and not be a secure fit on whatever piece of equipment I chose to attach it to. However, that's not the case. That top adjuster dial can be spun down further and then tightened back up on your equipment.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do, lets you shoe mount any accessory with a 1/4" socket. Use your imagination. Mount a Go-Pro or smaller camera atop your DSLR, attach a digital recorder, anything really. The machining is top notch, the locking washers spin freely, and the length of the threaded part allows for good flexibility in what you can mount to it.

This is going to work perfect for mounting my GoPro camera onto my DSLR so I can video my subject as I take stills. If you are going to the same (or similar) thing, make sure you also have the tripod to GoPro mount accessory.
