Hi I have 4 of these and main thing that is good is the price and light is ok, I use it for my video directing class and the 4 together are ok for a small scenes but you need 2500-5000 isoI know that's not the real use but that's what i use it for, I did a car scene on a super clamp and it was nice actually dialed it down a lot. I bought Lenmar batteries which help and I bought an AC transformer and that makes it totally useful cost me 22.00 and some soldering to make this AC and DC only real negative is the green but that's LED so you'll need aobut 10 mag on top of the magenta filter this comes with.Good and bright for night time recordind, i highly recommend getting the battery cell recharger by sony NP F-550 and recharger because trying to keep 6 batteries recharged is a lil time comsuming .. jus a thoughtBought this unit to use with my D5000 Nikon DSLR along with a 90 degree bracket to keep the weight of the lamp off the camera. Works just fine, plenty of light in fact I use it mostly at 1/2 power with the clear filter in the lamp.
Just watch for reflections from glass objects in field of view by shooting at a slight angle to keep the reflection off to the side so it can be cropped out of shot. The lamp is plastic so don't abuse it and it should last for a long time. I ran the light for about two hours at about 1/2 output with 2500 mah rechargeable batteries before it started to fail. For the price it's a good buy. When this light arrived and it came in a very cheap looking generic box and after opening it and it seemed to be made of the flimsiest plastic in China, my heart sank and "I said to myself, "You get what you pay for." HOWEVER it's really a great light. It's bright, the panasonic battery I use lasts forever --one battery lasted an entire 8 hour wedding and with a dimmer, it's versatile and fairly unobtrusive. Usually dance floors at weddings with a led look like FBI Mafia bust videos, but with the dimmer, you can get a fairly natural effect. I've even dropped it a few times and believe it or not, the plastic and wiring held up.
Even if I broke it tomorrow, for $34 bucks you can't ask for a better camera light for the price.Does a great job. Packs a punch for a little light. I use it all over the place! Buy it.
