It's not really HD and it can't capture 30 frames per second. It appears the sensor is not really 1280x720, so the image is interpolated up to that size, and it looks very splotchy. Worse, the processor is too slow, so it drops a very high percentage of frames, making the video very jerky. So unless you like splotchy and jerky, give this a miss.

I bought one on Woot and returned it immediately. Nothing about this item works like described. The "camcorder" could pass as a child's toy if it were priced under $10. I don't write many reviews and don't return much of what I buy, but I made/make an exception with this one.

Bought this item for my wife at Christmas. Big mistake. I don't know how they have nerve to put HD on it. I even ordered an HDMI cable for it, but there was no improvement in video quality. I am sure it will remain in a drawer until garage sale time. I guess the lesson is that you get what you pay for.

Like other reviewers, I too purchased 2 of these from woot.com back in December for my kids. I can't add too much to what has been said, except that they are horrible excuses for modern technology. There really are cheaper alternatives with a much better picture. Even older cell phones could do better. If you HAVE to have a small camcorder/camera in this price range, just pick up a used cell phone with those capabilities off of ebay and don't get service for it... just use the camera function. I guarantee it will be far superior in every way to this pile of garbage.

I bought 2 of these on Woot.com before Christmas...Returned them both. This camera is unusable because of a terrible buzzing sound recorded in video mode. Picture quality is about what you would expect for a $40 camcorder, very grainy indoors and washed out outdoors. I can't believe they are trying to unload these on their customers. Don't waste your time and money.
