This player does what it promises and delivers a very decent picture over HDMI (the only connection I use). So far, so good. However, the build quality seems to be very low. Like for another reviewer, the SD7300 failed within four months: the HDMI signal went dead, so no more picture.I do realize that there are faulty units now and then, but this is my second Toshiba player to die in EXACTLY the same fashion within half a year. The first one, a near identical SD7200 unit, lasted 10 months (HDMI failure). Toshiba replaced that unit after a four week wait, with the SD7300 that is now dead as well.
Too much hassle, too much electronic junk for the landfills I recommend to look elsewhere.

I've had toshiba's in the past and they were amazing and lasted for years!I've had two of these and each only lasted about 3 months, and maybe 5-10 DVD movies on each then they progressivly got grainier and grainier. And I was using an HDMI cable. Only a 3 month warranty so it was $50 wasted each time.
Shame on Toshiba! Must be taking lessons from GM.
Picture was great as well as upscaling out of the box. Beware afterwardsThis unit plays fine. I give it a low rating for two simple reasons. First, it's inexplicably slow to open and start and so on. Second, there is no resume capability so If I shut the unit down and come back another time to finish the movie, I have to search for the place I left off.
Perhaps I'm picky but the thing aggravates me every time I use it and I hate gadgets that do that. Fair warning.
