I think this is very good for the price. The video is actually better then I thought it was going to be during the daylight hours, not as good for the night but if you add your own lighting via floodlights to enhance the area at night you have the camera monitoring then the picture is more then acceptable. I put one on the back of the house facing the garage and put a 150w par38 floodlight on the back of the house that faces the garage to illuminate the area and it works perfectly at night. I did the same for the front of the house and I am going to do the same for the side. We have had problems with stuff being stolen from around our garage so this should shed some light on who is doing it. We have also had some of our mail tampered with so the camera in front should shed some light on who is doing that. If the cameras are not up to your standards it can accept better ones at much higher costs which is another advantage to this system. You can buy it cheap to start with and upgrade it as you can afford to with better cameras that have better picture detail, pan & tilt, etc. So far I'm impressed with this system considering what I paid for it and would recommend it as a good starter system or even a permanent one.

I did alot of research before choosing this system, I have worked in video security and I currently work on electronic instruments. This is a good price per performance ratio, it came down to this one versus Swann. I like the terrabyte drive and ccd cameras and price. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and picture, I purchased a more expensive zmodo 30 led camera but I now think I would be just fine with the camera's supplied. The hardest part was mounting the cameras and best placement. I recommend placing the receiver in a place that can not be accessed easliy incase they get in your house they will take the unit and you lose your evidence. Put it in a hidden or locked area.

My 15 year old son just installed all 4 cameras and had it operating in under 3 hours, including the apps for the smart phones. I am very impressed so far with the video quality quality in both day and night and the software. The smart phone app is nice too, now I can see whats going on at home when i'm away !

Shipped quickly, one of the camera lines ends was crushed, pretty easy set up, unable to focus the cameras. Still working with it, may get a couple of different cameras that work better from a different source. The night vision worked fair, although facial recognition is not good unless subject is very close, not good enough for me at 15 to 20 feet even in a well lighted area.

Over all quality is disappointing. I do well with IT stuff but looking at how to hook it up to view over the internet makes my head spin. Need to print pages from the enclosed CD to read instructions. It works for what I use it for, just barely though. Once I spend a few more hours messing with it I'm sure I can make it work better. Maybe use a newer TV instead of an old flat screen computer monitor. I may be a little hard in review but getting tired of all the cheap Chinese products at high prices...
