6ft Premium Toslink Digital Optical Audio Cable (S/PDIF)

6ft Premium Toslink Digital Optical Audio CableI spent considerable amount of time on the internet learning about fiber optics/cables. I have purchased 3 other brands or types if you may! This cable is superior compared to the other three. I like the braided cover, bakelite ends, and the gold plated end connections. Plus;with this toslink cable it fit into the CD player and AVR optical sockets more securely. I have used cheaper toslink cables with mixed results. I would recommend this cable for two reasons, quality and price.

Seem to be very high quality and they click in nicely when I plugged them in making a good connection.

I purchased a new (my first) LG Blue Ray player and replaced an old DVD player with a new Pioneer multi-zone DVD player.

Because my only options for A/V inputs to my 10-year-old receiver and TV were component video, and Toslink or coaxial digital or analog audio, I decided

to buy new quality Toslink and component video cables.

For digital optical audio I purchased two of these cables for the two DVD players. The product description and existing reviews leaned me towards these.

They turned out to be nice quality cables and are flexible enough to bend where needed and have really nice gold-plated connectors. The connectors have

screw terminals where the cable goes into them, so you can tighten them up nicely and they don't look like they'll separate anytime soon. I can't bench

test them but I'd say they are much nicer cables than I had before, and likely won't cause little or any data loss or jitter. For the price, they just

can't be beat. They look pretty cool, too.

One of them replaces an old Monster brand Toslink digital optical cable, which I had used on my old DVD player. That cable was just crap for too much money.

Not long after I bought it, I noticed the cable shroud separated from the connector, and was hanging down the cable about an inch. Then when taking a look

at it last week to figure out a replacement, I noticed the shroud had separated from BOTH ends and was shrunk down at least an inch from both, and the

data cable in the center had stretched out from the weight of the cable being supported by it alone. These were even stamped "THX Approved" on both

connectors.

These data cables appear to be better than that one and time will tell if they last longer without any problems like that overpriced Monster cable.
