This device does what it claims to do. Just didn't quite work for what I wanted. Lot of noise if you move it at all.As others have stated, the microphone on the recorder is VERY sensitive. This sensitivity affords a high quality recording of your voice but it also picks up any sound generated when the unit is moved or touched by ANYTHING. We found the scratchy microphone noise extremely annoying and agreed the noise would make the recordings undesirable for replaying to a third party. However, if you attach the recorder to a headphone splitter and use a earbud that has a microphone on the other connection to avoid handling the recorder; you can make a decent recording if the situation permits. It works even better if you can isolate the recorder under a cloth or even put it inside a small box.
I also agree that SecurityGearPro was easy to contact and more than willing to help me resolve my issues and that it's easy to playback the recordings on my PC.
A MAJOR CON: The recorder doesn't log the correct time/day stamp. Mine keeps logging the recorded day as 12/31/11…. The SecurityGearPro CSR acknowledged this design flaw and stated the manufacturer has not provided a solution.the product does record but has a very sensitive microphone works well if one is sitting very still. The company did contact me with all my concerns and were very attentive to my concerns. I would highly recomend this company when dealing with any product this comany would be selling.i use it on my ipad phone comes in handy when im around a lot of noise at truck stops and dont have a pen and paper around.
