HP Pavilion dv6-6108us 15.6" Entertainment Notebook (AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M Accelerated Processor,

HP Pavilion dv6-6108us 15.6' Entertainment NotebookI bought this computer for Chistmas 2011. HP is a big name, and the computer has great features, so I thought that it would be a good investment. It's August 2012, and I've had problem after problem with this machine. Let me preface this by saying that I've had an anti-virus program downloaded since day one, and I use the computer mainly for email, word processing and Youtube. Here are some problems that I've been having:

1) The computer freezes with no warning, the picture fragments and then I get a blue error message stating that there was an issue with the Display Driver. This has happened at least 12 times, and it happens completely out of the blue. I've contacted customer support on at least 5 separate occasions about this, and they never come up with a solution. They go through the same steps that didn't work on previous calls (even though I tell them that I've already gone through those steps).

2) I had HP send me a replacement hard drive because a service rep. told me that this would solve the blue screen issue. It didn't...

3) Here's another big issue: THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Their english skills are hit or miss. I'm a pretty patient guy, but I've spoken to tech's who I literally couldn't understand. I had to hang up and call back. When you finally do find someone who you can talk with, they usually don't know how to help you. When you tell them that you've already tried what they're suggesting, they just ask you to try it again. Here's what REALLY makes me angry: if you ask them enough questions that they don't know how to answer, they put you on hold and hang up. No, it's not a one-time thing. It's happened to me 4 times. I know that HP automatically disconnects calls after 30 minutes, but this is separate. The rep. literally hands up if he/she can't figure out what to do. The last time, I decided that I'd had enough. I'll keep this computer for the rest of the year, but after this unprofessional treatment, I'll NEVER EVEN CONSIDER buying another HP product.

My husband got me this Laptop for my birthday this past July. I am not computer savy but I'm really enjoying it for what I do. I especcially like the finger print password to get on line. The only drawback I find is that it is quit heavy, but since I only use it in the house that's not much of a problem. I'm 67 yrs. old and this computer is really more than I'll ever use or need, but regardless I'm enjoying it.
