I bought the Linestreamer to convert some of my vinyl records to digital music, but I was very disappointed to find there was no way to adjust the recording level, and it wouldn't power up when connected to my laptop computer. The record level when the Linestreamer was connected directly to my CD player was okay. But the record level when connected to my turntable with an Ortofon Super OM moving magnet cartridge was so low that the recording software's level bars barely moved. Bottom line: I was never able to hear what the Linestreamer would do for my vinyl recordings because it never worked sufficiently for me to find out. Even though HRT tech support was very responsive, I returned it to the vendor.

I purchased the HRT LineStreamer+ as part of a digitization project and it works as advertized (without the need for additional drivers).
I am currently digitizing my old vinyl collection including records from the '50s '90s. Some are in poor condition and will require after recording processing. In order to make sure that I have the highest level of post-processing quality, I needed a device that would allow higher input levels from my turntable than normal "audio in" on my Mac would allow. The LineStreamer has not been disappointing and works.
It works well enough that I returned the Preamp I was using.
