I bought this recorder exclusively because it records in MP3 format, has USB connectivity to a PC, and has an external mic input. The deal breaker for this product for me is that when an external mic is plugged in, the on board mic is NOT disabled...the unit records from both sources. So far I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to disable the on board mic and use only the external one, if that is even possible.

I need a digital voice recorder that I could use in the incredibly noisy environment of a airplane's cockpit. I have an adapter to plug the DVR into the intercom system (via the external mic input) but since the on board mic is still recording all of the ambient noise inside the cockpit, the voice recording is completely useless.

I will be returning this product but only because it doesn't suite the rather niche need I have.

I just love it, its record great, long distances, the speaker is great, is small, so you can carry in your pocket and no body will notice, and have everything you need in the box.. I totally recommend it!!

quality is substandard at best, the buttons sometimes work and sometimes dont, the recording quality is no good. best to avoid and save your money.

The recorder shipped in time and was in good condition. I tested and it is recording quite good. However, the item looks very fragile, it is very light and can be damaged easily. On the picture it looks much better than in real. In my hands it is like a toy, with very cheap screen and buttons, which I am afraid to push, not to damage. For such price I didn't expect solid and luxury recording machine, but it too much...

This recorder is super small and discreet, plus it's sleek looking fancier looking than its price. I use it as a counseling student to record sessions for educational purposes, and it works really well for that. It records loud and clear and also the internal speakers are loud and clear enough that I can use this little device to play a session to a group around a conference table and everyone is able to hear it fine. For comparison someone tried to play audio from their iPhone to the same conference table and it was way too quiet to hear.

I only gave it 4 stars because the controls and settings are kind of complicated and not very intuitive. But for the price it's a great product.

I haven't used the external lavalier microphone or ear buds but I did test them and they are a nice feature. I have used the USB for putting clips on my computer and it works great.
