The reason I love Pioneer dvd drives is simply work with almost any media with the rest seem to all have issues with media thought there not long lasting as I go threw one about every 3 years but I also burn several hundred disks a year so very hard on them so i do not see that as a fault

I like this just haven't used it yet cause I don't Have the Labelflash Disc that I need. Cause there just to high in price for me lightscribe are way cheaper than this is so when I am able to aford the Disc and or DVD's. I'll see how it work.

I ran across the reviews for this product and was surprised at the negativity. I purchased four of these for my two desktop builds a long while back and these units are still going strong. No problems with reading or writing, and they handle many brands of media. Pioneer makes good burners. One of them is starting to make a little bit of ticking noise on spin up, but for the amount they have been used, I'm happy with the life span of the unit. Nothing lasts forever anymore.

I purchased 2 of this item for my new high end computer but even with 32 GIG of DDR3 SCRAM it took (both of them) almost 30 minutes each to rip a 70 minute 15 tracks to my computer. My Blu-ray took only 6 minutes to do the same tasks and it is over 1 year old. I plan to return them both to Amazon in the next day or so.

I returned them to Amazon the next day and purchased 2 other DVD r/w recorder from Amazon.
