I have used this little recorder for years, but they do wear out, so I needed another. The recorder pictured shows a button for counting. Mine came without the counter, and I miss it.

what can i say the quality not the best and i notice when you turn it up you get lots of distortion, but its a lot better than other stuff i have used and i just pop in some headphones and i'm good. In all honesty its a lot better quality than those cheep tape to mp3 machines and i can use this for multiple stuff. the feel of it is cheep though so be careful not to drop it. as for working so far no problems here
