The first thing you need to know is that with an optical cable like this, if it works at all, it will sound identical to any other optical cable. Do not buy a higher priced optical audio cable expecting better sound quality. The reason you should buy a better optical cable is if you want better BUILD quality. This cable can withstand some abuse. I needed this cable for in-wall use. It bends easily and can be pulled and cabled anywhere. The braided jacket is tough, and I don't worry about the cable getting cut, ripped, or bent sharply. It is a good size, not too thick, yet strong. In short, it's an excellent cable to WORK with. The only way it could be better is if the connectors were metal instead of plastic, so they could hold in place better. I don't worry about them breaking though, and under normal cable stress they stay connected fine. I would not hesitate to buy another one of these cables.
