I bought the unit based on it's description, thinking that the high number of LED lights, 48, would give it a better IR image at night than a unit with a lower number of LEDs. I also expected that the 540 TVL lines would give a sharper image! It is a LARGE device which is a lot more visible to intruders. That could be good or bad depending if you are looking for a visual deterrence or wanting stealth!

I was wrong on both assumptions about the LED count and the TVL count making a unit perform better than a similar unit with a lower LED count and a lower TVL count. Another feature I thought would be of value was the manually adjustable focal length (adjusting from wide to narrow focus) and the manual focus (sharpness). These variable features really don't have an impact on the unit's performance.
