this piece only allows playback on your laptop or PC; thus, it is quite vexing not being able to immediately confirm that what you recorded was what you wanted to record--or if you, indeed, have recorded any thing at all...

Not sure what people ate talking about here saying it doesn't record. Maybe they didn't plug it in to charge it first. It works fine and to be able to use it as a fast 2gb flash drive is quite a bonus. Not sure what people expected for 7 dollars but it does everything advertized, records just fine.

It doesn't actually record your voice. I was expecting the little black circle thing to be a microphone or something... I was also expecting that it would be somewhat larger, sort of like a mini-device that records stuff, like a couple statements. It does not convert to WAV and it's really a flash drive. Literally, it came in a box that said "USB Flash Drive". It looks really cheap too, if the packaging is any example. Don't buy. It doesn't actually record anything.

You get what you pay for bought 2 types of this and this one seems a little cheap. Originally purchased to help sister's project but wasn't what she needed. As other reviewers noted, the instructions were in Chinese (guess they were instructions). As other reviews, tried to "charge it" and couldn't tell there was any different operated just the same before and after sitting in the USB port. The on/off switch is loose and you can easily turn it off accidentally. Picks up all the scratchiness and movement if it doesn't sit perfectly still while recording. Gave all these away they were cheap enough.
