Audials One 10

I have used this software for sometime, owning a previous version and recently upgrading to version 10 (current version). This software is good for some things, not so good for others. Occasionally, I am glad I bought it, other times, not so much. The reason is the clunky user interface design and somewhat buggy operation, although it has improved some. If you just want to record inet radio streams, it works fairly well, but there are much cheaper (and even free) apps that can do that just as well. If you want to find and download YouTube vids of your favorite artist, it does a pretty good job, but requires a lot of hand holding to get it done. Again, you can do the same yourself with other software that's free or cheaper. For converting audio and video formats, it works well, but again there are many other free/cheap competitors. It does do everything it claims to do. The biggest virtue is having all of the tools in one package -*if* you need them all. The biggest issue is the amount of free or cheap software that does many of the same things, sometimes better.

That said, it's not bad if you need everything and are willing to spend some time figuring it out. It's not the most intuitive software and the user interface (UI) is more complex that it needs to be. And, by modern standards, it's definitely a bit clunky and a bit slow to start up and shut down. But it works. If it were $25, I'd rate it higher, but it's expensive for what it is (and they will try to upgrade you every year, of course, though often with few real improvements based on my experience). I would advise trying to find a trial or demo version, if you can, and try it out before purchasing.

Update: Have dropped my rating to two stars. Too buggy and clunky for the high price being asked. Can usually find cheaper or even free software just as good (separate rather than bundled, though). They basically bundled a bunch of their software together here and it shows. Works good for some things, so-so for others. Definitely demo or trial before you purchase.
