This is a rebadged Hauppauge HVR-950Q. Only difference is the HP version ships with a full Media Center remote which is a big plus in my book. I'm sure because of space they had to skimp on the analog tuner (which is only good for analog cable anyway). Analog picture is grainy, but the digital is very good. If you need the analog your best bet is Hauppauge's external HVR-1950 (also excellent).Installed on HP laptop Windows 7 to use with 50" plasma display. No problems with the install quick and easy. Using with a separate outdoor antenna I am able to pick up several channels and HDMI cable connects to plasma. The price was reasonable. The first package was missing items but when we called the seller, they immediately shipped a new package, which arrived within a few days and was complete. The remote is nice but the buttons are very small difficult not to push two buttons at once and difficult to see the symbols.Buy HP USB TV Tuner KS523AA TV Recorder Windows 7 Now
I love this device. It was purchase so that I can view the World Cup Soccer 2010 tournament on my laptop while away from a TV. It never failed, I saw every match. I'm satisfied and recommend this productRead Best Reviews of HP USB TV Tuner KS523AA TV Recorder Windows 7 Here
I've been using a Hauppauge 950 USB Tuner for 3 years now for OTA HD (works awesome) I wanted to add a few more tuners to my HTPC line up, so I went to a local computer store to pick some up. No Hauppauge 950's, but there was an abundance of these HP hybrid tuners marked at a discounted price (should've been my first clue), but I have several HP products and my HTPC is an HP Pavilion dv5, and this tuner is also an FM tuner.I have had nothing but issues since I attempted to install/add the tuners to my HTPC. I then tried to only use one HP tuner, and the signal was still red and could not get one channel. I could get every available channel with the Hauppauge 950.
I don't know if there are faulty batches of these out in the wild, or if my set-up is not compatible, but all 9 boxes at the store were discounted obviously because someone before me brought that home, and realized that it sucked too.
On the other hand, it works great for other, judging by the reviews. But my take on this product is that it is one of the absolute worst products I have ever purchased. HP should stick to computers and monitors.
My advice is Hauppauge for a USB tuner. I might give Pinnacle a try, but I've never used one.

Good tuner, I have been using this tuner for a couple on years now with no problems. I have used it with two HP laptops, and I have experienced good reception and dependability. There are cheaper ones but this is an investment for a long time.
