I set up my Zi8 as a dash camera and this lit fits the bill for providing 12v DC power to the camera using the charge cable that came with the camera.
This charger only works with devices that can charge through USB. The Zi8 does NOT charge through USB. Thus, it does not work. BEWARE.

I lost the charger for my Zi8 camera, which doesn't use a micro-USB cable to charge like newer models. It requires a cable with a special tip. This package looked like a good deal when I searched "Zi8 Charger" but it doesn't contain a cable with that special tip. So it really didn't help me at all.

Cheap, cheap, cheap! Everything you get with this bundle is cheaply made. Wall charger broke after one use. The USB doesn't fit well in either the wall or car charger. Don't buy this item, just pay a little more from kodak and get something that will work.
