Prime Video Shoulder Rig Kit by Phototgraphy & Cinema

Prime Video Shoulder Rig Kit by Phototgraphy & CinemaThis "PRIME Video Shoulder Rig Kit by Phototgraphy & Cinema" is a solid product, all knobs and screws are solid and tight, looks great, nice weight...not to light or heavy. it's worth every penny I spent and then some.

The "FREE" Swiss Rods and Friction Arm adds more than $100 bucks worth of value to this value-packed offer. I tip my hat to this company for operating with a sense of integrity. In a world where we hide behind the words, supply and demand, which usually means, we'll charge you what ever we want to charge, even if it's an 800% mark up from what it cost us to design, make and distribute. But, Kamerar has given me a new faith in companies that actually price their products with price points that the average consumer can feel good about investing in. When it comes to any type of accessory, you don't seek them because they are necessary but because they help you do a better job or they make it easier for you to accomplish your task. In the video industry, especially since the popularity of the DSLR-Video products...for some odd reason the accessories cost "WAY" more than the gear. You spend 3-grand for a decent camera and a shoulder rig (designed especially for the camera) costs you 4-grand...WHAT? Isn't that like buying the cake for $8-bucks but the icing, the knife, napkins and the plate will cost you $200-dollars...I don't know what's happened in the last 15 years...but when I make most purchases in the accessory departments, I leave feeling cheated...BUT NOT WITH THIS PURCHASE!

I purchased this for a Panasonic GH2, I know the camera is small but I have Canon and Alpha/Minolta lens adapters and I do a lot of shooting with a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 lens and that lens is almost 3 times heavier than the camera...so I badly need stabilization when going hand held, not just for steady shots but that lens gets heavy after 5 minutes. So this not only does what I intended it to but I also put my Sony EX3 on this rig and it worked nicely...go figure, a $10,000 camera set up on a $250 shoulder rig....hmmmm, I think this must be illegal...at least in America...LOL!

I feel fortunate for waiting until now to get a full shoulder rig. I looked at this rig for over a month, I purchased their Matte Box (SOCOM-BOX 4x4) a few months back and was so blown away by the quality, craftsmanship and price that I went to the web site and couldn't believe my eyes. Things in the video business is going really slow for me this year but the prices @ Kamerar are so affordable that I could afford to purchase products even while things are slow...knowing very well that when things pick back up, I'll have new gear that will improve the overall look and feel of my creations. And for that reason alone I give this product 5-stars! Affordability, seems to be a concern of the past, but this company proves that you can get great quality products without spending an arm and a leg.

I live in Dallas, so this (KAMERAR) being a company in Texas if I had purchased this shoulder rig from their web site I would have had to pay extra for taxes...by finding this @ PRIME on Amazon for a few dollars more I get friction arm and 2 swiss rods...this was a WIN/WIN...I think. I can't speak for Prime or Kamerar, but I love this transaction...plus free shipping and handling (I received this in less than 5 days and the item was securely packed in a tight box with custom gray soft-foam)...man, feels like Christmas in April.

OK, so people won't think I'm involved with this company or getting paid to leave this comment...there is one thing that I don't like about the rig, the "SILVER" (Aluminum) 15mm rods, they also have a strange texture, not smooth like my other rods...all of my other rods from previous rigs are black, so cosmetically I'd prefer black rods...(all of my newer tripods are black) but hey, I'll purchase a pair of 30cm and 40cm black rods with the hundred bucks I saved with the free rods and friction arm...(on a plus note), the rods that come with this rig have the ends that allow you to connect rods together to extend their length.

Thank you "PRIME, PHOTOGRAPHY & CINEMA, AMAZON.COM" for this incredible offer!

p.s.

Even though I purchased a friction follow focus from Jag35, 6-months ago...I've got my eye on your follow focus :o)

Whats not to love about this system ? I mounted a CANON xlh1a to it with a 7" lilliput monitor and a luxman light and it looks truly outstanding !

The only thing i do suggest is that the company should include 2 rail extenders because it would have been nice to use the 6" rails with the 10" because the swiss rods are just a little bulky but ill still tweak it to my needs

Also it would not hurt to pick up a c90 clamp as i like my handles wider and more in line with my bodies natural position plus i think its more comfortable being I'm a big guy ....

The friction arm is truly outstanding and the entire system is a great package to start with and easy to add to as your set up grows , thank you also because shipping was super fast . Now i cant wait to show it off .

Good rig works great definitely worth the money, if you have a DSLR get it, it's cheap and it does the same as more expensive rigs. I use it on all my shoots you can go here to see some of the stuff I shot with it: www.BadSplice.com
