Initially I was ok with this but now I'm convinced that it is not accurate. The readings are consistently about half of what they should be when I compare them side by side with other meters. Besides improving its accuracy, there are two improvements I would recommend: 1) have an "average" mode instead of the "hold" button, which seems pointless to me since the "max/min" mode is sufficient; and 2) have an option to leave it on it shuts off very quickly (maybe after five minutes?) and this is irritating when I'm trying to get a max/min reading over a longer period of time.

A-frequency weighting is the most commonly used relating to the measurement of sound pressure. A-weighting is primarily used for low level sounds and is often used in industrial applications. I can understand the use for musicians also as A-weighting is the set standard for noise pollution and hearing damage.

Hearing sensitivity should be measured in terms of frequency and not limited to intensity.

Application matters with all sound meters and this is not a loudness meter so the description is accurate. FINE PRODUCT!
