I bought this Tablet at Ebay (sorry Amazon) and I didn't expect too much for the $50+ shipping that I paid. Will now get right to the pros and cons.
Pros: very bright sharp screen, although is resistive (vs better capacitive), it reacts well to clicking on an icon and loading that program., has a 1GB processor (many tablets are only 800 MB), wireless easy to setup and connects to wifi very
well, has enough loaded Apps to make this a good basic tablet, kobo bookstore is best
App and sets up easily and lots of ebooks, main home screen looks nice with date, time, and weather, email icon to go to your email although yahoo mail won't sync with it, runs solid Froyo 2.2 O/S.
Cons: Apps icon Sam 4 has a lot of Apps to download,,,but, many won't install on this
Tablet and poor selection of Apps, Tablet is not setup to use Netflix (big drawback) although can go to YouTube and videos worked well, power and menu buttons are on the back of the Tablet (very inconvenient), poor photo gallery design.
Overall: Good basic Tablet for reading ebooks, reading emails, surfing the Web, and
has nice sharp screen, scrolls pages well. Too bad Sylvania didn't load Flash Player, no Netflix, and poor Apps choices. Eventually maybe this Tablet can be rooted to improve it as it has great potential and Sylvania didn't maximize it's potential just as B&N didn't with it's Nook Color until CM-7 was developed.
Update: I was able to install the open android market Apps mgr and now able to install many more Apps. Also use freewarelovers.com for more Apps. Tablet now using it's full capacity. There are some things I love about this device: Fast Internet; gmail great; clock, weather widget, calendar work well; ebook reading is good but not in strong sunlight; voice recorder great; photo gallery fair; great price
The things I don't like are: it turns off without warning when battery is low (battery level indicator always reads charged); host ports do not work; can not download pictures (emailed them to myself to get around this) or music from my computer (considering using the voice recorder to get some music on it. Host ports won't sync with my computer; Android reader does not work. Slide me works to download apps but a bit quirky. Sometimes it gets locked in an app and you must use the on/off menu button to get out but if you press it too long it turns off the device.
Bottom line you must have patience and you get what you pay for!

I bought this in 2011 for my 10 year old son. It has very slow performance and is difficult to install apps on. It ended up sitting. For his 11th birthday he received a Kindle Fire (not HD) and he loves it. It does everything he wants from a tablet. The time you spend frustrated will not be worth the perceived value of this outdated and poorly made tablet.Read Best Reviews of Sylvania 7" Tablet Express Plus Powered by Android 2.2 SYTABEX7-2 Here
Do not bother buying this Tablet. I have read so many reviews and 90 are dissatified with this product. You spend half the time trying to figure how to get it from being froze on the infotmic site. I sent e-mails and called to get tech help. They forwarded me to a pay as you go tech. $33.00 later it still does not work. Your best bet is to avoid this product. It is like playing Russian Roulette with a tablet. Will it work? Will I be a lucky one and it will work for me? Don't know till you buy it. So save yourself the time and bother and do not buy this product.P. Enright

I purchased two of these for my sons from Toys R Us before last Christmas and spend quite a bit of time getting things like the Google Market on them. Seems great, right?Nope. The 2GB SD card that came with them and the 32GB cards I purchased never worked on them SO all apps were installed in internal memory. After going though Sylvania's contracted support, they never could get the SD cards recognized and explained it away as "Our Android software is different". Afterward, ignored requests for assistance.
Also, as part of that same support service, they got the non-working You Tube videos to work on one of them. That same one will now not download anything even to internal memory.
At this point in time, one boots up to the infoTMC screen and hangs, and the other has no screen output at all although an alarm still works that goes off at 12:30pm every day.
So although these were lightly used, with 2/3 of the time powered on troubleshooting and 1/3 of the time in actual use, both are now useless. I am awaiting contact back from the usually days delayed email-based tech support, and hope to get replacement or refunds on one or both. I will update in comments later however this product is the first I've ever rated poorly.
Lesson to me Next tablet(s) will be purchased from Amazon.com and will be checked thoroughly to be in working condition for everything or repaired/returned quickly.
