Toslink Optical to Coax/Coaxial Digital Audio Converter

Toslink Optical to Coax/Coaxial Digital Audio Converter
  • Input Optical Digital Input via Toslink
  • Output Coaxial Digital Output via RCA jack
  • Power supply included
  • Simple installation - connect your cables to the converter and to your devices then plug everything in and power up

I got this adapter to convert the fiber optic audio output to a coaxial input for my blu-ray/surround receiver. unfortunately unless I'm playing a blu-ray or DVD the audio signal runs 1/4 second or so behind the images on the screen. So I end up only using my surround sound for those formats and using the tv speakers for regular (digital cable) tv. 1/4 second doesn't sound like much time, but it is really annoying having everything you watch look like it is a really badly dubbed kung-fu movie from the 70's.

Good, I am satisfied with the quality but sometime it gets noisy of there are no input voice from the source.

Overall, this product is okay. I'm using it to convert 5.1 received by the tv (which is optical) to a digital coax recieved by my Phillips 5.1 dvd combo. I also have my BD player linked to my TV and chained through the same optical. It converts a good sound quality, but whenever I'm watching something from the TV (BD or OTA) the Digital Input setting on the 5.1 system cuts out for about a second, then is restored. It's midly annoying, but for what I paid, it's to be expected. This is a good solution if you're just looking for inexpensive and that does the minimum job.
