I had the previous version of this Vizio player, and wanted the most recent one, thinking it might allow me to view my Flickr photos on the TV as a slideshow. That wasn't included in the package, but it was extremely easy to set up.

I have it set to the TV input of HDMI1....the TV is also a Vizio full HD, and this unit adds many extras to the scene. It connects to the Internet and does Amazon, Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, and a couple of others that I am not accustomed to using.

About a week after I got it connected, I turned it on one night, and it said it was going to update the software. Which it did with no help from me, thankfully. The lack of a software update had been an issue with some reviewers of the Vizio units, and now maybe the update goes all across the product line. My previous unit was included in the sale of our house, connected as it was to the wall-mounted Vizio TV. I like this newer model even better than the older one.

Nice feature is this one has no tray, it just sucks the disk in if you are watching a BD or DVD or listening to a CD. It is also shallow enough to fit flush with the edge of a 10" floating shelf even with the cable connections on the back. I was hoping to have a cable input from the RF coax, but that is not included in this unit.

I would definitely buy it again. Vizio website was out of stock, and other providers were as well. I was relieved to find it at Amazon.
