Zoom ZMA2 Clip Adapter for H2 / H4 Handy Recorders

Zoom ZMA2 Clip Adapter for H2 / H4 Handy RecordersNeed I say more? I'm just a humble musician who mounts this into a standard EKG mic stand. So I can't tell you how well this mount will work with complex systems. But for a standard mike system, it certainly does what it's supposed to do. If you're looking for more technical reviews, look further on.

But for the layman, I think this works just fine.

This is a good way to mount any sort of digital audio recorder with a mic stand. I am a bit reluctant to do so, however, as mic stands can get knocked around and I'm afraid the recorder could take a tumble. The same can be said with microphones, but generally the wired ones are heavier and if they're worth their salt can take abuse. I think it's a great idea and probably is great if you can ensure no one is going to mess with the stand.

Didn't fit my spider shock mount, so I had to shave the handle down with my Dremel a bit, it is serving it's purpose beyond that.

I shoot weddings and this piece is perfect! I use it on a Tascam DR-40 on a mic stand pointed toward the DJ's speaker. It's plastic but good quality and works for what I need.

I've had several of these items in my junk drawer and was never really sure how to use, then it struck me: These make the perfect adaptor to mount my digital recorders into shock mounts! Just connect to any digital recorder that accepts the 1/4 inch by 20 tripod screw, then slide into the elastic bands of a shotgun mic shock mount, or any shock mount that has two sets of bands running across the frames, and you can decouple the recorder from the mic stand. I record many choral and small ensemble groups, and the high gain required has a tendency to pick up rumble. Using this odd little plastic piece, I have dramatically improved the quality of the recordings. I've moved this piece out of the junk drawer and into my gig bag.
