Installs and connects easily to power-up, but instructions need to be followed to get recording and networking to work. you will need more time to set menu's and remote settings than to hook up. Once you get the hang of the settings you can do it in a couple of hours. A instructional DVD video would have been helpful to learn how to set it. phone tech support is available if you always tell then it's a new system setup. They are helpful, and know the system. call them directly from their 800# not the retailer. you may have to wait on hold a few minutes, so get comfortable. Revo remote pro is professional software that is not very user intuitive but after proper setup it connects and views well over network or internet. Things you may normally right click, you left click and drag-and-drop to connect cameras. we are thinking about putting three or four of them hooked to a Netgear router on a apartment complex to really upgrade security, giving us 32 to 64 cameras there, and a lot of cabling to install...
will comment later on how it turns out. more functional than our old netrome blackbox system. still can use one of them but quality, images, and the sound plays over the internet in sync with video. can watch just one camera or up to 64 total at once. sound never would work with blackbox.
I'm not one to say other people aren't telling the truth. I'm sure it works great for some folks. The network ports, all of them, just crapped out on our unit and all but 2 cameras do not work... the two that do are the ones connected via video/audio cable adapters and it has barely been a year. Gonna try to fix this sucker, if it's not somethign to the point to fix, I'll leave my review at a solid "hate it". Also, tech support gets back to you when you feel like it and aren't very useful. When something is wrong with your store's cameras at night or on the weekends, you're SOL.
