I only took this video with a bowl of water when i got it. If i can remember ill update this with some underwater video in the bay where i live. The video quality seems pretty nice for 30 bucks and i submerged it for about 10 minutes prior to the video creation to be sure it could handle more than 10-15 seconds underwater.

I didn't buy the Kodak Mini for anything specific, but just randomly saw it and figured it was cheap and would be great to have a small camcorder to bring around in my purse. Turns out I've been using it a ton! I went on a kayak tour of some islands off the coast in Southern California. It got soaked as we were paddling around the islands and still works perfectly. The picture quality isn't the greatest, but again you're not paying a lot for this, so you can't expect an amazing picture. It is good enough for everyday use. Plus, it really is the size of a credit card and is the same thickness as my smart phone. Easily fits into any purse/clutch or pocket! Great buy that I'm SUPER happy about! It came already fully charged and ready to go, so I popped in the 16 Mb MicroSD card which went in very easily, and I turned it on. It asked me a few basic questions like date/time etc... then I was ready to go. My dog was close so I took a picture of him at about 24" distance. The picture looked a bit grainy in the little 1.8"display, but I thought it was just the way it came out on the screen. I took another picture of my dog at 10' and it still showed up grainy. At this point I was checking all the features so I took 20 second video clips in each of the three video modes available. The Video seemed to look fine in the display and the brightness seemed to compensate well when I turned the lights off and on in the room. I then easily popped out the USB port built into the camera, and I will say I have no evidence that it was flimsy, but I just had a feeling that this part would be the first to break. I plugged it into my computer and ran the .exe file that was required for the software and then some updates happened and I noticed Kodak also offered some other cool software for effects in video so I installed that too. OK, I downloaded easily all of the pictures and videos. The videos looked great, all of them. The photos looked unbelievably bad, no lie here, I am not a photographer and I am not real picky about super clear photos, but these were ridiculously bad. I checked the lens to make sure no plastic or spray paint was covering it and everything appeared normal. If you can stand it they have the ZM2 which is HD. I loved all about this little gem, but I need to be able to tell what the picture is. Spend a little more and get something you will be happy with. My ZM2 is on its way.Save 60% Off
