Olympus A-329, AC Adapter for Digital & Analog Voice Recorders

This is definitely the way to go if you are looking for an AC adapter for the Olympus DS-40 voice recorder. It is less expensive than the A-328 with a much smaller, compact plug and a cord that is about 12 feet long. It also comes with multiple adapter sizes for different plugs. Well worth it!

This adapter is the one you need if you have an Olympus Pearlcorder J300 or J500. I have tried other AC adapters, but noted that the voltage output seemed a bit high and that kept the recorder's voice activated functions from working right. On Olympus' web site, this model is the one they post as the adapter to use (a replacement for the A-328 model) and it works great. Think this one may be better regulated than the others I have tried. One thing kept this from being 5 stars and that was the delay in getting it. It should have been in Tuesday, but instead was shipped on Tuesday. My only complain.

I did a lot of research and picked the Olympus DM-620 recorder (Olympus 142665 DM-620 SLV Voice Recorder) because it provided WAV and MP3 files, and would supposedly work with this AC adaptor (transformer) and not depend on batteries. I got this impression from the description and specs on Olympus' own web page for this item, and for the Olympus A-329 transformer.

However, I found out when I got them that this information was in error, that that particular transformer does NOT work with all Olympus DM series digital recorders. Unfortunately, this ad copy from Olympus was copied by every retailer. The support at Olympus communicated that they would look into this, but they may never get around to it.

There is a transformer that will connect to the DM-620, but to charge the batteries only. It will not operate the device. This makes both purchases useless to me.

I have posted a notice to Amazon about the false claim on this page but they have not corrected it.

This adapter seems to be in good condition and is helpful in using our digital recorder without constantly replacing batteries. The price was reasonable and we are satisfied with our purchase.
