after hooking up the unit it was difficult to operate. i still have it running but i have never been able to get the audio running. ever. i have emailed swann many times and they have given me links to all the cables and i bought all the extra stuff. again the audio does not work. on any channel i do have it programed properly as i have read the manual about 10 times. and the audio still does not work. then swann just didnt email me back any more. so im stuck with a very nice shiny dvr that runs but doesnt fully function. the audio has a loud buzz on all 4 channels. it sounds as if it is shorted out. my last email i asked if i could return it. and thats when the swann tech just stopped emailing me back. i would recomemnd you chose a proffesional rather than try to do something this technical over the internet. and have it professionally installed. this is a very complicated device. but it does work half way for me. but again the swann tech team let me down. so this is my story. carlI bought this DVR to hookup to existing analog cameras. I was looking for an inexpensive way to get remote access. There are a lot of good DVR's out in the market, but its the software and the service that really make the difference. I have limited tech. knowledge and I was concerned that I would not be able to set up the remote access. Sure enough I got the unit hooked up no problem, but could not get remote access to work. I found out that Swann has 24 hour a day 7 day a week free tech. support. I called them up and within 30 minutes they had my remote access and mobile view all set up for me.
