Update: the phone is broken. See comment to this review. I did get bluetooth to work well with two headsets, but it is useless now.

I was looking for a very small mobile phone when I happened on this baby and was hooked. Unfortunately, I got it in pink, not really my macho thing, but I am reconciled.

It works very well with a Tmobile SIM and there was no setup involved. I have a $15 a month plan and WAP is agonizingly slow, and I haven't figured out how to use it correctly yet. But that isn't a big concern.

The specs say it will work with a 4GB micro media card, but it seems to be working great with my 32GB card.

I primarily got this for jogging, just as a way to be able to make calls or send text messages. It does both well. The camera seems very primitive to me, but I don't care. I had to watch a video to find the stylus -my fingernail worked ok without it.

It works with a bluetooth headset but I found setup confusing. I have a Jabra BT3030. Pairing worked. I got a voice recording I made to play on my new Lenovo laptop using bluetooth -accidentally! I have not yet managed to hear music on the watch from the bt buds.

Non-bt buds came with the watch phone and work fine. But you have to plug them into the usb port which is awkward and risky if you are moving -that's why buying a bt headset is recommended.

Unfortunately, the built in FM radio requires the buds to be plugged in to the usb port to work, since it uses them as an antenna. Upshot: you probably won't use the FM radio much when on the move.

I found the sound recorder recording level very faint. I thought at first that sound playback was faint in general, but later I listened to Economist news stories and sound level was fine. The speaker of the watch is loud enough that you could call without using headphones of any sort in a pinch -you could hear the caller and the caller could hear you.

Text messages have a cute graphic when they arrive and a distinctive sound, as do phone calls.

The manual is written in that sometimes delightful fake English that is always awkward and often unclear.

The screen size is so small that reading ebooks seems an unlikely pastime, though an ebook reader is part of the software.

All in all, if you mainly want to call and text, this watch could be a blast, especially if you don't mind an occasional puzzle thrown in for free.

Apparently you can get this for less from non-Amazon sources. I think anything under $100 is a decent price.

Although I do not have the cell phone feature working, yet, the watch does all that it promises after you buy the micro SD and the SIM card. Takes video, records sound, takes pictures, tells time. The screens are user friendly and make sense once you get the hang of it. The watch includes a stylus right in the wristband. The watch was set to English, instead of Chinese, which was helpful. The greatest negative was the lack of tech support. I learned by typing MQ998 on You tube.

This product is exactly as described: makes calls, receives/send text messages (SMS), receives/sends MMS (picture mail), browses web, reads ebooks, plays music, has a camera etc. It's a literal cell phone on your wrist. First time setup was easy, although if you wanted to add a microSD card it was weird for me personally. To put it in you have to lift the top of it (I thought I broke it!) then lock it back down by sliding it the other way when the card was in.

Calls are very high quality as you expect, but until my bluetooth headset gets to my address (another order) I have to use the included headset, and it looks awkward having a cord running from your watch to your ear.

A warning though: If you plan on buying it to replace a prepaid phone you have: DON'T. The SIM in your prepaid phone locks to your phone the first time you turn it on; I had to learn that the hard way with one from Tracphone.

Some downsides though

-Web isn't as simple as plug-sim-in-and-go, you have to manually enter the access information given by your provider, which (in my case anyway) is not public knowledge. If you can't find it you can always google for free mobile internet and use that information.

-The menus are tough to navigate at first but slowly you get better with the device. Everything is hard to get to on this. I had this device for 2 days now and I still have troubles at times getting to the music player when I exercise and at times I tap the wrong contact to call. The screen is only 1.5 inches so you might end up tapping the wrong thing if 2 items are close to each other.

-The stylus is small. When fully extended it's almost the size of the screen; if you remember the screen is only 1 and a half inches diagonal. It's bittersweet though because the tip is just a touch larger than microscopic. It takes some getting used to.

But bad comes with good, here's the good:

+The camera, which sounds very weird. If you put the watch on correctly the camera is on the outside of your arm right along the bone (to get an idea on where it is). It's perfectly placed to record what's in front of you as long as you act as if your arm is in a cast.

+ Personalization is the best part of this. Almost all cell phones have 1 or 2 options to change for everything (including power on animations) then execute the requested action. For example an AT&T phone would put their logo up then turn on the phone with no other custom options to change that. This device allows you to change that to whatever image or short video file you want. When my watch phone powers on I see Sailor Moon striking an epic pose and saying "Welcome Corry".

+The extra battery is an interesting addition. The watch has roughly 4 hours of talk time per battery and it's more than enough for most people. I have yet to charge mine outside the initial charge while I went to get a new SIM card.

Summary: Personalization is the best part aside from a cell phone on your wrist, but if you can put up with the small menus until you get the hang of it, this is worth the 45 dollars.

As soon as I received the Watch Phone it was dead. Couldn't turn it on, the back plate wouldn't even fit on right. (The back plate was actually made slightly larger than the indention on the back that it was meant to fit into.)

A note about not being able to turn it on. Tried hooking it up to multiple computers, nothing. Tried hooking it up directly to a wall outlet nothing. Held in the power button and nothing.

Returning to seller. Seems I can't get a replacement from this seller, only a refund minus return shipping costs.

I guess I just have to wait until these are made in America. :-/
