This product is not worth the money -because it hooks up to your computer with a USB input, it just cannot handle the capturing. It would work okay for about 10 minutes, and then the video would speed up really fast and then slow down, all the while the sound is still going at normal speed. You end up getting 3 to 5 minute clips of the recorded video where the sound is way off of what the video is showing, and then it catches up. Haven't tried the Canopus ones yet, but the reviews are very good. A Best Buy worker told me that the Canopus would work much better since it uses a firewire connection, which can handle the capturing speeds (they don't sell the Canopus ones at Best Buy, you need to find them online).

I promised my grandson I would record my old VHS tapes to DVD for him, because they had movies of his deceased mother and him as a small child. Well, after three days of total frustration and missing my promised Christmas deadline, I QUIT! They advertise: "Looking for a quick way to back-up your videos to DVD? Dazzle DVD Recorder is the answer. Thanks to plug-and-play simplicity and the step-by-step guide, copying your home movies from almost any video device to DVD has never been easier and faster." BULL CRAP! It is not easy, it's impossible!There is NO step-by-step guide! The whole deal freezes up after ten seconds, and you have to reboot your computer. Their web site is terrible, too. I am not a kook check my other reviews!
I can't see how a company can take your money by such false advertising and poor performance all around. I'm crying....What is the alternative?
