The website is difficult to navigate to make a claim, and I was on hold with customer service for 89 minutes. The only option for me is to return it, pay to ship it back to them, wait 7 to 10 days for a coupon to Toshiba.direct.com and order a diffrent product.
I am very unimpressed with the level of quality and customer service I am recieving on this product.I bought this at Walmart a little over a week ago for $78.00.This unit worked fine until now.Now it constantly freezes up on a dvd disc and the remote and front controls do nothing to remedy the situation. No power on/off control, nothing. No reset button on onscreen display or on the unit itself.Unit must be unplugged for a few minutes and then restarted. The internal wireless connection has completely failed, after repeated attempts to correct the malfunction.Nothing was physically moved or changed on my router setup.
This is one of worse pieces of new electronics I've ever bought.I should have read the reviews on this product before buying it.Many displeased purchasers on Walmarts site also. Will be taking this STINKER back for a refund.

I'm sure that the people who have criticized this blue ray player have valid reasons but I plugged mine in, set the security code for wifi, got it online, went to Netflix and started watching movies immediately. Great picture, great sound, DVDs player perfectly I couldn't ask for anything better. I suppose your results may vary but I don't know why they would if you follow the directions. I highly recommend this player. Will append this review if I encounter problems but so far, so good. The Toshiba BDK33 Bluray player is a hard item to review. On one hand, the price I paid was right and it ultimately worked well enough in the end, but on the other, setup was a pain and the firmware issues (and the lack of support from Toshiba) are a lot to deal with.Basically, upon powering this up and connecting to my wireless network, it upgraded its firmware to the 1.18 version (it had originally had 1.15). Once this happened, I seemingly could no longer connect to my wireless network. In fact, it would bring down my network for a few moments (other network-connected devices like my smartphone and laptop lost connection). If you can set it manually, then you'll be ok, because even though it initially says that the network fails, when you check the information screen, it will identify your network and have an IP address listed. At this point I was able to access Youtube, Netflix, Pandora and network videos without issue, and it's worked well since. Others' experiences likely vary wildly, but that's how it worked out for me.
Video and sound quality isn't bad (note that I'm using it with a 720p LG plasma), but the interface ("powered by Java" as stated on the back of the unit) is decidedly clunky and often unresponsive. Please note that this unit is HDMI-only, so if you're wanting to connect via component, composite, S-video, etc., look for something else. As it is, the BDK33 is an inexpensive, no-frills Bluray player that functions well enough, if you're willing to deal with the hurdles involved in getting it to connect to your network successfully. Not everyone will (or should) be... That unfortunately doesn't make it a very good Bluray player, merely a functional one.

I cant turn it on regularly and I once I do, cant turn it off. I have used it for Pandora and Hulu and once again I can't shut it down. I thought it would be a great alternative to "big CABLE"! But this unit is awful! The only reason why I give it 1 star is that the picture is really good. I just wish that the other features were up to par. They are not!
