this model may be turner-less , frill-free , obselete ,I still own mine an love it , but since mine is a bit rusty , im looking for a new one but it lasted me 6 whole years of plenty of recording. sometimes 3 movies a night / 4 days a week . TOSHIBA made a great model on this one . if it still being sold new , i would buy one ASAP .When I bought mine it was $250 back in 2006 , but that was a steep price even then . If you do decide to buy this , it should last a long time . it dubs off many of my home recodings great , an off cable very well , but since you have no tuner , you must have a cable box or satilite, to record ...GL
