Buy DIRECTV NEW H24 High Definition NO DVR MPEG-4 Enabled Receiver 3D Ready (H-24) Now
I work at a DirecTV technical support call center and for 8 hours a day I field phone calls from customers that are having equipment problems. NO ONE EVER COMPLAINS ABOUT THEIR H24.MRV works. Media Share works. It's quiet. It's not a "big" box. Has built-in RF capability for your remote control. Has all the connections you need to be a standalone component to get all of DirecTV's features that don't necessitate a DVR.
Get this one, especially over the H25.The receiver was sent quickly, and was exactly what was listed on Amazon. This is about the best price on this H24 box that I could find at $85. This box is the Non-DVR HD DirecTV box. Unlike the newer (and smaller) H25 box, this H24 box will work with SWM & Non-SWM systems. It does require the B-Band Converter for the Non-SWM systems in order for the HD channels to come in. The seller included a new B-Band Converter with the receiver for free.

Was exactly what I needed. Took a few minutes on the line with Direct TV, and was all set. I knew this was a used unit and would lease it for two years. I wanted 1080p resolution for my HD TV, and it does just that.I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought this to upgrade from the standard definition receiver to a HD receiver. The only issue I had was the seller didn't include a b-band converter (BBC) as the photo in the listing shows. I sent a message identifying the missing item and to my surprise, they sent one to me via USPS yesterday. Yhanks for correcting this.I just disconnected the old receiver from the wiring and installed the new receiver to. After receiving the BBC yesterday, I was able to upgrade to whole home HD DVR service by calling DirecTV and working with a service agent and their technical support. They talked me through it the set-up process. By procuring this from Amazon.com and not DirecTV, I avoided the $199.00 service fee that DirecTV would have tacked onto my bill for sending an installer to get all of the equipment and set it all up for me.
