Ematic 7" TFT LCD Color eBook Reader with Kobo EB105 - Blue

Ematic 7' TFT LCD Color eBook Reader with Kobo EB105 - BlueI received this reader as a gift -my mom bought a refurbished device for $34. Although the coupon that accompanied it for freebie books was expired, I found no shortage of fabulous books to download from Project Gutenberg, in a variety of genres, many with illustrations, for the price dictated by your conscience.

The non-glare display is wonderfully clear, and you can adjust the magnification. I personally found the navigation to be easy-peazy, that is, no problem figuring how to download books, music, and photos (haven't bothered/attempted to download any movies, though).

Prior to receiving this reader, I had no interest--AT ALL--in owning such a device, just because I am a voracious reader (I typically buy books, a grocery-sized bag at a time, from Goodwill). However, I must admit that I can now see the appeal. Among other things, it will be mighty handy the next time I travel, in terms of not having to drag a bunch of books along with me, and because of the backlighting, for reading on the plane, and in hotel rooms or on a cruiseship, where the bedside lamps aren't always positioned where you want them.

thought it was touch screen, was not. Cant get any good app stores like google play or amazon. Don't buy this product.

I bought this for my niece. I cannot download any quality picture books for her because the ones on kobo.com are not compatible with this device. The books I was able to download look good when you open them, but they're for upper elementary (she's in kindergarten). Downloading movies is a pain. This is the LEAST use-friendly device I've ever tried to use. Granted, I'm used to the ease of Apple products, but spending $500 for a 6-year-old is not logical. You're better off with a Kindle or Nook, or if you can afford it, an iPad.
