I have this rigged on a camera/DVR running on a battery. The pass through power socket is handy. The sound gets buzzy about 8.7v whereas the DVR and camera get to under 8. The PA-3 from Altex reaches 8 but has some clicks at any voltage. Both are fairly water resistant and can handle rain especially with a wind sock.
