Dual Screen 18MP Aqua5800 Orange (with Micro4GB) Waterproof Camera

Dual Screen 18MP Aqua5800 Orange Waterproof CameraWe bought this for our 8 year old who loves taking pictures. Was not sure of the quality because it was so reasonably priced, but have been very pleased. The pictures have been of a very high quality, though we do find they all come out best using the 'mountain view' button on the side rather than the 'portrait' button. Really can't fault the product, even the battery drainage seems reasonable. We have yet to use it underwater, but as we wanted a general use camera the fact it is waterproof is just a bonus. A very good camera for an excellent price.

Would agree with previous review about the flash. It does take a while to be ready, but my daughter has taken some photos in the evenings without the flash and they have come out quite well. It really depends on what you want the camera for.

9 months later and still really impressed with this camera. The underwater pictures are very clear as well. Have uploaded the pictures and printed a f the quality is comparable to my much more expensive cameras. Still very happy with this camera.

Pro's

-I ordered this product on Dec. 28 and it arrive at home on Jan. 3 ( I love that fact of being quickly delivered)

-good for kids if parents wanted to give this to a child for a starter camera.

Con's

-It said clearly 12MP (sad because it is actually 5MP/ very grainy on the screen after capture)

-When wanting to use the flash it lets you wait for 5 seconds or so before you can use the flash (sad because it drains the battery quickly if using the flash that much. Waiting on the flash to get set takes patience ......A lot of patience!

-I did not try it underwater even if it says 3meters waterproof...I don't want to waste my time.

I emailed them last night 1-4-12 here in Amazon for return label and today 1-5-12 I got the label to return it. (customer service was great)

I bought this camera for a trip to Cozumel where I was to swim with stingrays. The camera, although a fairly good one out of water, did not last 15 minutes in the water before shorting out. Luckily, I had purchased a waterproof memory card and I got a few shots before it died. The function and menu controls are also a bit complicated.

The batteries life is too bad ,las baterias se gastan demasiado rapido con unas pocas fotos..tienes que cargar muchas baterias de repuesto

I bought this item a 4 months ago and have had the chance to use and evaluate it quite well. Sadly I don't like this product at all and don't feel that it is even worth $20.00. Following are the list of flaws and issues with the camera:

#1: This camera takes good pictures ONLY if you are outside in daylight and within 10 feet of the object/person that you are taking a picture of. The zoom doesn't work very well and there is a massive delay from the time you take the picture to the time that the image displays on the camera. Alot of people think that the camera is frozen when this happens, but really its not, its just the way this camera operates.

#2: The slot for the Mini USB Port is where the batteries go into the camera so it means that you can turn the camera on while plugged into the PC but if you don't have an SD card reader on your PC, you're screwed and will need an SD card reader in order to upload your images. The slot itself is a pain in the butt to open so good luck with that.

#3: This camera is a battery hog. When I used this camera for the first time I went through a new set of brand new Duracell batteries in less then an hour. If you buy this I advise you to buy lots of rechargable's so you can save money. I could see someone going through a 12 pack in 5 hours or less.

#4. When you remove the SD card or put it back in it forces you to reformat the card each time.

#5. Photographing anything or using the flash in this camera is wasted effort. If there are no lights on in the room you cant see what you are photographing since the flash doesn't work worth a darn.

#6. There is no sound when taking videos.

#7. There is no internal storage. Not even 1 meg.

#8: 18 megapixels? Yeah right! (Laughs uncontrollably)

Overall I would not recommend this product to anyone. I posted it for free on craigslist and nobody would come and get it. Not even my friends kids would take it out of my hands. How sad is that?
