Pinnacle PCTV HD PCI Card 23040

Go with Hauppauge. Pinnacles support service was terrible. The card works OK in XP but not very well in 7. I gave it away and went back to Hauppauge.

I'm running the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and when I installed this card, Windows 8 immediately recognized it, and installed the appropriate Pinnicle drivers. No need for the drivers on the included CD-ROM.

The only reason I rated it as 4-stars is because of a bug in the DirectShow filter. I'm using the S-Video input with left/right audio inputs, but the crossbar wants to match the audio inputs to the composite video input, not S-Video. So everytime I start-up my software (Flash Media Encoder), I need to reconfigure the crossbar. Not a big deal, but it took me a few hours to troubleshoot my loss of sound.
