Rechargeable 8G 8GB Digital Audio Voice Recorder Dictaphone MP3 Player FM

Rechargeable 8G 8GB Digital Audio Voice Recorder Dictaphone MP3 Player FM
  • 8GB USB Flash digital Voice Recorder Pen
  • MP3 function
  • No need USB driver
  • Separated recording & playing keys: one key for recording, one for playing
  • VOR system: Voice Operated/ Activated recording (Automatically starts recording when there's sound and pauses when there's no sound.)

I was in the market for a small and not so expensive voice recorder for school. I didn't have any other intentions on using this for anything else except record lectures, so I really didn't want to spend $70 and up for a voice recorder. This was the perfect find. It records clear and well enough to understand the lectures. 8gb is more than enough space for me. I usually load the lecture onto my laptop after a few classes. USB cord easily connects to the computer. Design is user friendly and easy to understand. This has definitely been added to my "do not forget" list on my way to school.

A good product once you get past the poorly translated manual (Japanese? Chinese? version first, then the English in the second half should be a clue). For instance, making the menu selections on setup requires the use of buttons on BOTH sides of the device plus the "menu" key not clear in instructions.

Despite that, easy to record and download via USB. If that's all you need, then don't even open the manual. Press the big button on front to start. Press the little "stop" button when finished. Plug into your USB port (Win) and it shows up as a drive.

Fantastic battery life and storage (I get around 20 hours recording on a full charge without running out of memory even on HQ sound record format). It's the other things (like setting system time or using the radio) that really require what's sketchy in the manual.

Quality on mine was pretty good no boot problems and switch and buttons don't feel cheap and flimsy.

I was using my smart phone occasionally as a recorder for interview conversation, but playback was hard to hear sometimes, especially when the recording was done outdoor. This is really a good buy, the design looks great and the recorder picks up sound without the background noise really well, and that was without using the mic that comes with it. Navigation may be confusing, perhaps I didn't spend enough time with the instruction manual. It does what I need it to do, I am happy with it.

The sound on this thing wasn't good at all. I sit in a lecture hall with 200+ people with a professor who talks a million miles an hour, a lot of words were hard to understand.

Pros: ...

Cons: -doesn't include wall charger like product manual pictures.

-very cheap feeling, sides are molded plastic that probably won't survive a fall

I'm not very technology savvy, and couldn't get the file I did record into iTunes. If there's a way besides the obvious file conversion, I'd gladly give it a star more. For now I'm better off with my 2 year old droid incredible phone as a recorder.

Minimal quality control, unit would not charge at all. The few minutes it did record were very clear. USB & micro slots were misaligned with internal connectors. Seller did offer no charge replacement. If i felt lucky, I would have asked 4 replacement.
