My daughter is an avid swimmer, as well as an video and photo enthusiast. At nine years old, our more expensive camera has had a few knocks and bumps, and it was high time to buy her a decent camera, since the off-brand cameras were not up to the task. My wife found the Vivitar 850W and it fit all her needs! Waterproof to 10 ft, great video, 8.1 Megapixel photos, small, light, floats and ruggedly built, it seemed the perfect gift we have not been disappointed! It went into the bath, then into the pool at a local hotel and has given her no end of enjoyment. The video is great, can use an SD card up to 8 Gigabytes, has easy to use software. Only complaint is that it can't easily be connected to a tripod (has the screw hole for it, but it's recessed too far). Looks like an easy thing to adapt, though, so I'm not worried. Thank you so much! Love that she can record under water.I got it for my 10 year old daughter. The charger has to be in just right or it wont charge. The sound you get on playback is so quiet you almost can"t hear it.
