The drive fit perfect and works great. The only thing is it is not a lightscribe drive. At least it works unlike the drive that came in the HP laptop.
The deviceperforms as expected. It fit the HP Pavilion 7xxx series like a glove. The bezel(faceplate) does not conform to any HP case so you will have to swap them. Simple task, just carefully removed the old bezel and snap it in place. Total change out time was 5 mins, saved my friend $40 in parts and 5-10 days in the shop.

The device was and performs as expected. It fit my notebook and was easily installed. The basil (face) does not conform to my notebook contour but that could be seen in the advertisment and was expected and acceptable. I am pleased with the performance.

I order this product a little under a month now after the drive in my HP dv4-1125nr stopped working. It works perfect, just like the one from the factory, and was reasonably priced also.

As promised, this drive perfectly fits the HP G60 series laptop. The original drive had the LightScribe functionality, which is what caused it to burn out so quickly (I made the mistake of leaving discs in the drive); I opted for a replacement drive that does not support LightScribe. The new drive is much quieter than the original drive, whether playing a disc or ripping MP3s from a disc.
I followed an installation video for optical device replacement SATA (Laptop) 7053 (about 2 minutes long) that I found on the web. It clearly showed how to transfer your original drive's mounting bracket and cover plate--smoother fit than the replacement cover plate that comes with the drive. Swapping out the drives took about 5 minutes.
