I purchased this for my husband. He loves it! It is easy to understand and use. He really likes being able to take video and still shots all in one.

I saw someone else give it one star but he just got a defective unit and expected everything to be taken care of in a day (seriously?).

This is great and the HD is spot on. Small, compact and easy to use. What else do you need?

The Jazz HDV 189 Camcorder did not work properly, right out of the box. If the camcorder does power on, the unit won't come up. If it does come up it won't go into menu logic, if it does go into the menu it may or may not follow a menu path. It just does not work properly. The only way to reset the unit if it hangs up is to pull the battery. I called and email Jazz(Digitac), no one home over a six hour period. I called Digital World NYC, no one home. I e-mailed Digital World NYC, no response as of yet. I think it is time to get my money back.
