Sony PCM-D50 Portable Linear PCM Recorder Bundle

I don't use this as a carrying case by itself. I put the PCM-D50 into this case, then put the case into whatever bag I'm using to haul my stuff. I doubt I would ever attach the straps to the case and dangle it over my shoulder or around my neck.

PROS: Semi-hard shell protects recorder from impact. Can easily fit inside a camera bag or messenger bag.

CONS: Even the discount price of about $35 is steep -and considering that the PCM-D50 is a premium product, the LCPCMD50G case should have been included with the recorder. Same goes for the ADPPCM1 windscreen, which looks like a dead mouse and costs $43.95.

Great case for my Sony PCM-D50. The PCM-D50 is made of metal and plastic. It is beautiful but I shudder to think what would happen to it if I dropped it from more than 6 inches. The Sony carrying case is thick and padded. If I dropped the device I believe the case would definitely protect if from a fall of 2 feet. More than that I cannot say nor do I ever want to find out. If you buy the Sony PCM-D50 you must buy the carrying case. Without it your a fool who has no qualms throwing $450.00 out the window.

The case is nice looking and solid. It was made specifically for the recorder, and so it fits perfectly. WIth that said, the recorder was pricey and I think the least Sony could have done was thrown in the wind screen and the case!!!

OK, I used to think this is something can be connected to belt or something,

but the truth is I'm wrong. It's only a case, with a band, nothing else.

Yes it do protect the D50, but you can't listen to music when you put D50 into this case.

And you can't bound this case to your belt like some walkman.

So the only function of this case is it can protect your D50 from scratch and dirt.

Although this function means nothing to me.^_^
