Bear in mind that the device may have trouble with a few discs. I have yet to try any homemade DVDs but when I do I will update.
All in all, a good DVD player and a great VCR. Best of both ages and a good price.
Buy Sylvania DVC845E DVD/VCR Dual-Deck Combo Now
This was a purchase for my husband and I who are not that techno. We needed something easy to use and this is it. It is also very good looking when it's up and being used. We are enjoying using this item very much and would buy and/or recommend it to anyone else. The price wasn't bad either and we've used the Sylvania brand before and find it to be very reliable.Read Best Reviews of Sylvania DVC845E DVD/VCR Dual-Deck Combo Here
It has performed beautifully thus far with zero problems and over 50 disks without a reject. Just follow instructions...Bought this to replace my aging VCR and DVD players in living room. Simple, easy to use buttons on face of unit. Remote not so user friendly, but programmed my master remote, so don't need it much. Does the job well, plays burned cd's, dvd's with no problems. Plenty of options to hook up, S-Video, Component video, Coaxial compatible with just about anything you have. I figure it will last me 2-3 years & then I'll need an excuse to upgrade again for 69.99 plus free shipping, well worth the cost.I use it primarily as a VCR. I haven't found a way to playback on a different channel when recording on the timer setting. Also, when doing a quick rewind during playback, it makes an unpleasant noise before resuming
