Before I bought this, I was a Flip user. My friend recommended me Zoom for my often use of a camcorder as a concert documentary. The Zoom Q2HD is light-weighted, small, and easily portable, good for indoor and outdoor use. The sound quality is good enough for a handy recorder, even though the volume is not very easy to control. I don't recommend any preset mode such as auto-gain or so.The webcam color is fair, and the "wide screen" doesn't have enough pixels. This says, you need locate the camcorder further to be able to fit the screen such as a music performer. However, recording from a further place results into more environmental noises and less timbral and dynamical delicacy. The HD (max:1080/30) video file is huge but fair quality: not bad, but not great.
The AC power cable is short, but the battery doesn't last long when recording videos. You need to either plug the AC power close to the power supply, or always prepare multiple spared batteries.
