I bought this for grocery list use, but it is difficult to use, the color light signaling record mode is hidden once pen part is put on, so you have to twist it apart before you can set it from one mode to another.TOO complicated, too much to remember without dragging the directions around!And having to use the ear pieces to listen thru is awkward, always falling out of ears, and if you break these fragile things you can't listed to a playback from the pen. Might become a gift for someone.That colored light mode changing has GOT to go!!Expensive keychain, yes, useful recorder,no.As a SPY unit? "Hey, wait until I unscrew my pen, set the record mode, put pen back together, NOW let me secretely tape you." Don't think so.
Unit is a little bulky and it is not easily used without conspicuous attention to the unit. I have seen the more expensive unit and regret not having spent the extra few bucks.
