I am using this as an external microphone on both my Canon HD and my Drift Ghost HD. It is perfect for someone doing POV video. Neither of these cameras has a hot shoe, so I couldn't use a RODE, so this was my only sensible alternative. I am quite happy with my pirchase...and I am happy to write a positive review. Excellent clarity and durability. I would be happy to buy it again.
