Works as a network camera. Using for PCI compliance in data racks and works as needed even with IR viewing.I have previously used the LTS IP Camera with wireless (same as the Y-Cam black with wireless) at my business. They worked very well, however I had to get electrical installed everywhere there was a camera. Also given the limitations of wireless, I went ahead and wired each camera via CAT5 cable for improved stability. I recently moved my business to a new location and needed 8 cameras installed 4 outside and 4 inside. I searched for a reasonable POE camera and found this for around $150. The biggest selling issue with this camera for me was that most POE cameras I found had a non-removable cable coming out of the camera which had a small box to connect your cat5 cable to. This would require additional considerations when wiring, because you will need to secure this small box both from the elements and from potential vandalism. This was one of the cheapest cameras I found that did not have this small box coming out of the unit. That means you can simply run one wire and plug that wire in directly to the camera. For my entire installation I also bought the Y-Cam shells which were around $40 each. This lets me install them outdoors and protect them from the elements. I used them on my indoor cameras as well to prevent someone from pulling the wires out. I purchased two trendnet 8 port POE switches (4 POE ports, 4 Standard, $50 each) and have them connected to a synology NAS unit. I can view all cameras from my phone, as well as from my PC remotely. I connected the switches and the NAS unit to a very high capacity UPS, so in case the power goes out these things will still record. This system is much better than anything you can buy from costco. The synology NAS is very easy to use, and I would recommend any small business owner to consider this route as it cost me a total of $2000 including installation to have 8 cameras with night vision installed.Buy Y-cam Black SD PoE, Network Camera, PoE, MicroSD, Nightvision (YCBP03) Now
