Sabrent VD-GRBR USB 2.0 Video & Audio Capture DVD Maker w/Real Time TV Display Dual Export with capture softwareI bought one of these and I used it to record Call Of Duty Games.

It has an input and an output so you don't need splitters.

When I put the output to my TV it was pretty bad quality but it recorded in pretty good quality

It was worth the money.

This little black box works well for its price, but it isn't the greatest quality. Basically, you simply attach a composite video feed to the yellow, red, and white plugs on one side of the box, and then you connect the USB cord to your computer. The nice feature about this box is that provides a composite video out, which allows you to record your video to the computer while still watching it on a separate screen. The only major drawback for this product was the software. After multiple attempts to download software from the manufactures website, the included disk, and various other sources, I finally managed to get Windows 7 to work this box. Warning: this is far from plug and play, you have to work at it to get the right drivers.

The product itself works great, but it was a hassle to get the drivers set up. I'm running Windows 8, so to get it to work I had to go to "Change PC Settings>General>Advanced startup> Restart now>Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Windows Startup Settings>Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" After that it worked flawlessly,it's just not plug and play friendly.

Obviously the quality is standard definition only, but for the price you really can't complain. Just be warned, while this may be the simplest setup(you don't need anything besides what's in the box) the quality on the tv is very low and flickers from time to time. This does not affect the recording in any way but it may be an annoyance to some.
